Mega Warehouse Erection & Cladding

Building within the Tema Free Zone under LMI Holdings’ infrastructure standards requires engineering execution at an international scale. Mega-warehouses designed for logistics hubs, transshipment hubs, or free-zone manufacturing units require expansive clear spans, high clearance heights for heavy vertical racking, floor layouts optimized for heavy forklift traffic, and an incredibly durable building envelope.

3Stars Steel Industries Limited delivers the heavy engineering capacity, large-scale structural fabrication, and high-speed erection workflows necessary to construct world-class logistical mega-structures on time and within budget.

Technical Project Scope & Spatial Engineering

The LMI Free Zone Mega Warehouse is engineered to maximize volumetric storage efficiency and withstand continuous, heavy-duty industrial operations. Our architectural and structural execution focuses on four critical pillars:

Phased Mega-Structure Erection Process

Executing a warehouse project of this scale requires a highly synchronized logistics and rigging plan to ensure rapid progress without compromising site safety:

Phase 1

Given the massive footprint, our engineering team utilizes high-precision total stations to establish primary grid lines. Structural steel deliveries are pre-sorted and staged across designated zones of the slab to minimize internal crane travel and double-handling.

Phase 2

Erection proceeds systematically bay-by-bay. Using heavy-capacity mobile cranes, columns are anchored, and pre-assembled rafter pairs are hoisted into place. We immediately bolt the cross-bracing bays to establish a rigid, self-supporting structural block.

Phase 3

Once the primary frames are stable, high-tensile cold-formed purlins and side girts are mechanically hoisted and bolted at close, engineered centers. Sag rods and anti-sag links are tensioned to ensure perfect horizontal alignment across the entire length of the building.

Phase 4

To meet fast-track deadlines, specialized cladding teams operate concurrently. Wall cladding panels are installed from bottom-to-top, while roof crews lay long-run IBR sheets using strict string-line alignment to guarantee absolute water-tightness.

Phase 5

We fabricate and fit heavy-duty, high-capacity internal box gutters, downpipes, massive ridge caps, and custom corner flashings. A final comprehensive inspection is executed, structural bolt torques are verified via calibrated wrenching, and the shell is signed off for internal fit-out.
